For the past couple of days I’ve been trying what to figure out to blog about.
Something techie? Something real estate related? Something to do with the holidays?
Then I came across this story about 11 year old Brendan Foster whose dying wish was not to have some incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience, to get some awesome toy, or to meet some movie star.
His dying wish was to help others.
Brendan’s wish mobilized his community and others across the nation to help feed the homeless. In his last days on earth he did more from his bed than so many other able bodied people do in a year, or a lifetime.
On top of reminding us to help others who don’t have as much, Brendan reminds us that life is so incredibly precious and that every moment should be lived to the fullest.
Sadly Brendan passed away last Friday having finished his battle with Leukemia. His good deeds and love will last an eternity.
So with all this in mind, this Thursday when you visit with family and friends be sure to give them all extra big hugs and kisses.
If you’re a parent or you’ve got little ones in your family spend some extra time with them – tell them how special they are, how much they mean to you and how they too can do anything they put their minds to.
If you’re so inclined and its possible take some of those left-overs to those on the streets. You could even pick up something at the store and take it to them. Give some love to those who aren’t as fortunate as the rest of us.
Finally, before you go out and spend money at your local retailers, stop by St. Jude’s or National Children’s Leukemia Foundation and make a donation to help them fight the horrible disease that is Leukemia.
